Living Sacrifice
(The Road Home)

A voluntary rejection
the Loss—Garden of Eden
dividing space and time

A life out of control
Passion, Pride, Rebellion
evoke lightning and thunder

A love affair
of untold scars, wounds
piercing man’s heart and soul

A Cross bridges eternity
the Lamb—Peace Offering
Abba Father, invites us home

The Desert

Sole enemy isolation
pride, poverty, prejudice
exalt their self—war
despair: then I remember
while the storms rage
and men seek my life
alone, alone, never alone
“Hope thou in God”

Light penetrates darkness
faith triumphs human fear
like the mighty oak—roots
reach streams of living water
wells beneath feed my soul
quench, refresh parched soil
alone, alone, never alone
“Hope thou in God”

GOOD NEWS -
TOGETHER FOREVER

Together forever from now on
Together forever from now on
Rain, Shine, Sleet or Snow
There is one thing - I know
Together forever from now on

Black-White, Red-Brown, Yellow
No matter where you are found
Rich-Poor, illiterate or Ph.D.
Whatever gender you may be

From The White House, all the way
To my house out in the street
Good News We’re all human-seed!

Someone needs to hear “My Words”
Yes, Someone needs to know today
There is Joy and Hope Believing
“I Am” The Truth, Light and Way

Love God, Love One Another
Deny yourself, take up your cross
And follow me — Yes, follow me

Together forever from now on
One race — saved by grace
Together — you’re My face
For the whole world to see
Good News We’ve been Redeemed

Heritage

Faith, Hope, Love
invisible aims
which Abraham, Isaac
and Jacob proclaimed

Perseverance
love put to the test
their great reward
now—eternal rest

by Jerry Nicklas
"This poem shares my personal prayer and
testimony of God's love and grace
provided through Jesus Christ our Lord."

LIVING EPISTLE

I don’t know how—it’s a mystery
I don’t know why He loved me
but I am a living epistle
yes, a living epistle
by the grace and mercy of God

Renew my heart—by your Word
cleanse this earthen vessel
make a holy epistle
yes, a holy epistle
by the grace and mercy of God

Not by human—might or effort
but by the Holy Spirit
write a living epistle
yes, a living epistle
by the grace and mercy of God

Ultimate-Liberty
(Mount Calvary)

Freedom is not free!
remember those who are gone
white stones neatly in a row
flags balloons, flowers….

Graves bathed with tears
remind us earthly freedom
though precious is not complete
until we are Spiritually free

A clean heart, renewed mind
to enjoy this eternal freedom
cost God—His own Son

The right to choose
was purchased by another
freedom is not free!

POTTER'S HAND

I saw a miracle today
the face of a man
I've never seen before
one of concern — compassion
mixed with grief and sorrow
arrogant youth gave way
to humility and wisdom

I saw a miracle today
who would have thought
such a change possible
God of course — no one else
could imagine, design such beauty
from a broken down outcast - Now
a useful vessel in the Potter’s Hand

WONDERFUL WORLD

A crystal parade
of color coated kids
marching thru sunlight
a rainbow
of human love
quilted together
like a peacock
elephant with giraffe
snowflakes on diamonds

Unique and beautiful
diversity is priceless
reminding kids
everywhere
as jazz ambassador
“Satchmo” Louis
Armstrong trumpets
it is indeed
a Wonderful World
